Sushi for one

Last year before Valentine’s day, I celebrated my second post-divorce Valentine’s day. Because I am a unique individual and bored with traditional Valentine’s day Meme’s and being inspired by the catching phrase from the movie: This Means War. I decided to go for the 13 February anti-valentine type, self-love date.
I went to Wing Wah Chinese restaurant in Faerie Glen, Pretoria East for a Sushi Buffet, if you are a big eater like me, this is super value for money. I ordered a glass of semi-sweet white wine to compliment my meal.
The meal was extraordinary. I love the pork spring rolls starter, it had a sweet sauce to go with it, that is divine. My favourites for the evening summed up; Cashew nut California rolls, spicy tuna Californian rolls, Deluxe hand roll (the cucumber replacement of seaweed is super refreshing) and the salmon and cream cheese rice paper Maki is super melt in your mouth delicious. The Chef’s also spoiled me with complimentary deep fried sushi, which since then has become a new favourite of mine. The staff are friendly and by now, know me as a regular.
What I love the most about my experience was spoiling myself, getting motivation for a poem and going outside alone as a ‘single’ mother and loving my own company in the process. It was a great experimental outing, and made me realise that if I don’t enjoy my own company, how can I expect anyone else to enjoy my company? From my self-development journey point of view, all people, regardless of their relationship status should learn to have fun on their own, because one day when we are old and grey, the only company that we might have is our own.
For desert, I had the strawberry and cheese California rolls, it is dribbled with some honey and super sweet. So, in conclusion, I think that Sushi outings is not just for a romantic date, but for anyone who loves Sushi.
