I have not written a review like this one before. I was never particularly fond of a specific animal until recently. As a child I liked puppies as a teen and young adult I liked cats, I even see myself as a cat person. But recently as a woman, I fell in love with horses. I specifically like the curly haired horse breed, it is very beautiful, but not very sought after in our country. I love the white, beige color of some horses. It is very appealing to me. I am fond of the wild look of black stallions as well and even remember my liking to the horse in the movie Zorro.

I went for a weekend getaway, arranged by Winstead Stables in Springs to Kaapsehoop, near Nelspruit. It was an out ride weekend. I am guessing as a newbie that I spent roughly 6-8 hours on horseback that weekend. It was an amazing experience. The venue is so beautiful I lost a part of my soul there. The accommodation was comfortable, the company that was also on the trip was fun and the food were divine.

But there were two BIG things that is two sides of the same coin that stood out for me. The first was a mind over in-experienced body kind of trust in myself that was rekindled by an adorable horse, Kingsley. The second was to trust Kingsley. I learned that I can trust my natural instincts and ability and I can yield and control this almost un-tamable animal by calming my mind. Listening to the valuable advice of the instructors and to realize that for both me and Kingsley, control is an illusion. The only real one that was in control was God. He held us in His loving hands and I just had to let go and allow Him through His people to “nurse” me back into my God given mindset and abilities.

I remember another experience as a child that reminded me of the out ride. It was when my Dad taught me the trust fall exercise. And You know what, he always caught me even when I weighed 82 KG’s (while pregnant). – This is exactly how we should trust God in our everyday lives.

Remember, it takes two to Tango and two to Trust.
