On Mother’s Day, I planned a special gift from me to me for this day. My goal for my alone adventure’s is to spend time with myself, getting to know myself and learning to really like myself.
My adventure was a Paint night event at The Collection Venue. The waiters at the Venue is very friendly and they are fully prepared for the winter with a few new fire places, they have a fully functioning bar and restaurant. The atmosphere is a cosy, farm style environment, which is perfect for a fun therapy session. The other people participating in the event was inspirational, unique and very friendly, I even made a few new friends that I hope to see at the next Paint Night event I attend.
The artist, Annalize Carstens, agreed to let me ask her a few questions for my blog. Annalize grew up in Krugersdorp and due to a few challenges in her life decided to keep herself busy and build a name for herself using her creativity. She also does other creative things like baking and decorating cakes, artistic manicure’s and sewing and needlework.
Paint Night chose a very beautiful theme for mother’s day, Pink colours on grey backgrounds. Annalize told me that their other venues also had different paintings with the same theme, one is a woman in a pink dress. Annalize’s tips for people who want to be creative is to make the decision and exercise their skills in the area they want to create in, the more confidence someone has in e.g. Painting the better their paintings will be. Annalize believes that anybody can create and paint. When people don’t have a skill, it is very good for them to try it, because they don’t know all the rules about what they want to create, they can relax and let go of their troubles and just trust that they too will create something amazing for themselves.
📷The experience taught me that my creations shows a side of my personality, people may look at the same things, get the same instruction but create from their unique perspectives and that is to me what makes art, art. My creation shows that I am a little un-organised, but like a beautiful wild flower, I was challenged to pay attention while also having fun, I grew from my experience because I practiced on focusing my attention and have fun at the same time. I also got a feel for what is going on in my subconscious.
