Hairdressers have the third most stressful job in South Africa, they must remain calm, polite, friendly to every customer and still complete their service on time. Therefore, I admire them and look up to them.
A women’s self-worth is linked to the way she cares for her hair. 1 Cor 11:15 “if a woman has long hair, it is her glory.” To me, this is interpreted as caring for your hair because you have self-respect and know who you are. In other words, the writer of this scripture refers to a women’s virtue- worth, which is reflected in self-care.
In Psychology Today, Doctor Vivian Diller Ph.D. says:
“Beauty is physical & psychological”
There are 3 sides to beauty:
1. Your genetics or physical appearance.
2. How you take care of yourself
3. Positive self-worth
How I improve my self-worth (and make sure the enemy does not attack my femaleness)
1. Take control of your emotions and thoughts
2. Be assertive towards people that disrespect you.
3. Say only positive things about yourself.
4. Use daily declarations to help your mind focus on who you really are and want to be.
5. Surround yourself with people on the same mission as you
6. Be grateful for the body you have
7. If all else fails, when the house needs painting, paint it.
My dear friends, hair-ing is caring. Book an appointment with your hairdresser today.
