While I am busy on my amelioration journey, I realised that a big part of making something better is to start by double checking yourself regarding the things you do right or should do right. That’s why I asked another wise man I respect and trust, Mr. Gawie Grobler from Accounting Choice if he would double check my tax situation and while we were discussing my finances, he also educated me regarding his business, and why he does what he does, he also answered a few of my ameliorating questions and why we should not only use our talents but enlarge the territory we are using our talents in.
Gawie always wanted to become a business owner with the same enthusiasm his son wants to become a firefighter. He did well in accounting and economics in school and decided to study BCOM Financial Management, then he did his article-ship and that was the time in his life when people started to recognise him for his skills and talents and willingness to help others.
He then started working for someone for a few months, but one fine day in July, he went to watch a movie, that made him realise that he feels un-accomplished. His sphere of influence was too small, he can help more people and can’t do that while being someone else’s follower. So, he decided to start his own thing, from his room he offered his services as an accountant, after the first month he earned more than his monthly salary.
Unfortunately, three months later, his mother passed away, he had a difficult time adjusting, but did so bravely. A year later, he moved out of the house into his own. And the year after that he got married to the love of his life, Magdel. They have three children each about a year apart- why his story is inspiring is because he had to build his business up from nothing and kept on excelling to provide for each new challenge and privileged responsibility he received.
Gawie wants to continue developing his talent into coaching, mentoring and training people. Because he is a natural leader and have also employed a few people to work for him, he believes it is his life’s calling and I agree. If he was not an accountant, he would probably be a coach or psychologist. In my mind, I see him as a money coach. There was a very clear reason I chose him to help me, because I trust Gawie and he really cares about the people he helps. I made the right choice, because he invested with kindness in me before I ever decided to in return become his client, and because I understand personality type’s I knew that if there was ever an accountant that would supply me with all the important facts for me to remain safe in my financial decisions it would be Gawie.
Gawie is also teaching his children to help other people, and this form a big part of their family heritage. All that is left for me to say about him, is to Quote a line from Accounting Choice’s Facebook page (a quote that I absolutely love out of a literary point of view as well as that in my experience it is the truth)
“make the right choice… Accounting Choice”
