Leadership or Awareness

Some people consider themselves to be leaders if they are the first of a group or their peers to do something. I myself was under a similar impression for a long time.
When I got engaged, it seemed all my friends suddenly got engaged too. When I got married within that year I’ve seen more weddings than I ever thought I would. Even when I fell pregnant there was pregnant soon to be mommies everywhere. When I got divorced, all of a sudden 50% of the people I saw where getting divorced. When my father passed away, I thought heck, why are so many people dying. And even when I started my business, entrepreneurs sprang up everywhere. This seemed to me to turn into a debate. As you will see, I wasn’t exactly a leader in any of these things since I did not practice influence. All that was happening was I became aware of people around me experiencing similar life events because I was going through them.
Leadership is the ability to lead a group of people, also see guidance, control, supervision, authority. This means leadership is the ability to give orders, make decisions or enforce obedience.
Awareness is having knowledge or perception of a situation or fact, awareness is being informed.
We can see here that being a leader starts with having awareness, but it does not stop there. Once you have the necessary experience you can lead a group to make different decisions. Pain gives us 3 things: 1. Experience, 2. Strength, 3. Personal growth. That is why all great leaders have a big, sometimes painful backstory.
