What Corona can Teach us:

As a Christian and being a teacher of life skills, there are many things that I became aware of through the Holy Spirit and Science that made me realise there is something God wants to teach His people through allowing the spread of the much-feared Corona Virus.

The first and probably most obvious lesson was that we should turn back to Him. How is this being taught to us? Whenever we are not feeling in control, we become aware of the fact that psychologically something must be in control. A lot of people first look at what their governments and social institutions are doing. Then we look at what actions we can take to regain a form of control. (that’s why we see so much panic buying of sanitary products, not because up to now nobody washed their hands... we all always knew to wash our hands, we just have control over that, so we go into a frenzy grasping at this control). But I want to assure you apart from your normal non-ignorant steps to protect yourself, which God also gave us the common sense to do, all He requires of us is to put Him first, not the sanitizer. A sanitizer is just a tool, don’t worship it, rather worship the Toolmaker... God.

The second lesson comes in the form of what we are going to experience. Fear is the opposite of Faith. We are asked to stand firm in our Faith. But what this experience also shows us is what life without Jesus looks like. The bible has so many scriptures describing the effects of fear. One of them is 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love”. This shows clearly to us that panic, chaos and confusion, which comes from fear is not from God, because God is love.

The last lesson I want to outline is also a hellish experience... that is the isolation that comes with containing the spread of the virus. Loneliness is a pandemic that also runs in our society’s. If you have a Christian mindset, you probably have a more spiritual worldview, knowing that there is more to life than our 3d world. There is a deeper dimension that is made for God. This is what is the worst part, I believe how hell will feel like 2 Thessalonians 1:9 “They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.” When we choose to not have God, we choose hell. Although God may allow things to happen that we don’t always understand, I want to highlight that even when I am angry at God for allowing some things to happen, I repent, because a life without God is not life, it is a lonely, separated hell. In Christ we are never alone, we are part of God’s community and family.
